Where do liberals get the notion that the Indians were peaceful and the Europeans were the agressors?

The Franciscans were the worst, they were the set up for the Jesuits, the soldiers and eventually the , destruction and spreading of disease by the Spanish, but how would you better spread Catholicism. You asked if the diseases were intentional; today we call what they did genocide !
