Should Gov funded Climate Researchers be required to make their data & algorithms internet accessible for free?

They should make their data and algorithms available, although not necessarily via the internet. I'm not sure what you mean by "for free" since things like that cost money and time. The US already makes more weather and climate data available for downloading than any other entity--we give away the same type of data that the EU sells. Scientists should not be spending a large fraction of their time answering FOIA requests--that is sure a waste of everyone's money.
